Most Vanguard companies will be roughly equivalent in size to an 800 point FOG army. The scale is 1 figure = 1 man and 1 cm = 1 metre. As such Vanguard skirmishes will represent clashes between companies of 200-300 men.
The rules come with a certain number of missions based on the kind of work entrusted to advance-guards, rearguards or foraging expeditions. Players are encouraged to design new ones.
The purpose of this blog is to distribute the Vanguard skirmish rules and associated documents. All documents published in this blog are free and users are welcome to modify them and distribute them on two conditions:
1. they remain free
2. for purposes of clarity, Vanguard rules that have been modified by users should be given a new name to differentiate them from the original rules (ie. Vanguard Fantasy)
